Why buy original art?

People often ask me why buy original art…. it’s a good question because there’s a myriad of places you can buy pre-framed prints and mass produced artworks at a very low cost!

But here’s the kicker…. when you buy original art you are buying something truly unique - there is only one piece that looks exactly like it. And when people buy art it's because they often have a strong emotional connection to that artwork - it reminds them of a time or place, it stirs something in them that they hadn’t felt before. 

I have a beautiful small abstract piece on the wall beside my coffee machine by my good friend and artist Lisa West. Every morning as I make my coffee I look at that painting and it makes me feel positive about the day. I think it's the colours, but it’s also knowing the artist and the care and attention that Lisa put into that piece. It just makes me feel good.
